Picasso Enterprises today announced that it will hold periodic auctions of selected sports memorabilia that the company has collected since the early ’80’s.
The first auction is for a rare Super Bowl XXI tee-shirt. The white and navy ringer youth tee-shirt was manufactured by Champion in 1987. This is a great collectible for fans of Mickey Mouse and the NFL.
It is believed that this is the only time that NFL Properties (NFLP) approved artwork with a Disney character. Dual royalties had to be paid to NLFP and Disney making the tees costly at wholesale. Only a small quantity of these tees were shipped into Southern California because the dual royalties.
